International Internship at Ridni Foundation

This summer, Ridni Foundation welcomed two participants of the ImpactUA international internship program – Vlada Smoot and Solomiya Horbatsio. From June 8 to July 24, the students completed their internship at the Foundation, learning about its work and supporting both communications and program activities.

During her internship, Vlada focused on communications and public relations. She edited English-language materials, researched current communication practices, and explored opportunities for the Foundation to participate in international rankings and awards.

Solomiya, meanwhile, contributed to the Spilnota Workshop project, participated in the Youth Driving Change conference and the Power4Girls initiative, and, together with Vlada, visited the Spilnota House, where they met children and young people supported by the Foundation.

The most valuable part of my internship was the people I met at Ridni Foundation. One of the highlights was visiting the Spilnota House, where I saw firsthand how the Foundation's projects create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people. As someone who was born in Ukraine but spent most of my life in the United States, this internship gave me the opportunity to connect my international experience with supporting Ukraine

My internship at Ridni Foundation will always be remembered for the warm moments I shared with children and young people. Working on the Spilnota Workshop project, participating in the Foundation's events, and getting to know the residents of Spilnota became an incredibly valuable experience for me. I hope our work also made a meaningful contribution to the team💜

We sincerely thank Vlada and Solomiya for being part of our team and wish them every success in their future professional journey. We are also grateful to our partners, Brave Generation and ImpactUA, for making international internships possible and for creating opportunities that bring together young people, new knowledge, and a shared commitment to positive change.
